Between openness and warmth
Set amidst the rolling countryside of Cornwall, Hayle House stands out as a residence with a distinctive character. Its architecture reinterprets the classic pitched roof with a contemporary, geometric language, combining local craftsmanship with a modern sense of clarity. The wooden cladding grounds the building, while the striking two-storey glass façade lends it a sense of lightness and openness. Inside, the gabled shape and impressive ceiling height accentuate the laminated timber structure and create a generous living atmosphere. From the outside, Hayle House presents itself as a confident architectural gesture—discreetly nestled in nature yet expressive in design.

On the ground floor, minimal windows® 4+ systems were used as a wraparound sliding door solution and also form the structural base for the expansive glazing above. The generous glass surfaces create maximum transparency, natural light, and a direct connection to the surrounding garden. With their nearly frameless design, the façade appears as a continuous plane, subtly integrated into the timber framework. Beyond their architectural appeal, the systems deliver impressive technical performance: the excellent thermal insulation of minimal windows® 4+ ensures energy efficiency and year-round living comfort – even in the ever-changing coastal climate of the British region.
