Based on a brilliant vision, Moat's Corner remains true to its historical appearance. This meticulously planned house exudes a soothing precision and serves as an interactive sanctuary where the vibrant energy of the location permeates everyday life. At the beginning of this place's multifaceted history, there was a pioneering family to whom Moat's Corner owes its name. The driveway lined with gnarled cypresses is a piece of history that reveals the identity of the people who first settled this rural property near a coastal town on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne. The next resident was an enthusiastic botanist who dedicated almost 70 years of his life to collecting and cultivating plants, creating a fantastic landscape with diverse flora on five of the total 53 acres of land.

The main goal in planning Moat's Corner was to establish a connection with the surrounding landscape without compromising functionality. With its elevated position and structure, the building serves as a vantage point from which residents can directly engage with the surrounding gardens and the landscape. The wide panorama of the expansive landscapes, facilitated by our minimal windows® window systems, invites maximum interaction with nature. All interior spaces seamlessly merge with the outdoor area, blurring the boundaries between different areas and blending harmoniously with the beautiful garden.

The clear structure of the building and its extremely minimalist style express the authenticity of the materials in the interior spaces and various elements. Our generous minimalist sliding elements provide light-filled rooms on every level. When opened, our minimal windows® freeway system allows for barrier-free access to the house, creating a seamless and obstacle-free transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. This creates a sensation of being in the garden even inside the building.
