Lac de Neuchâtel, Switzerland
Villa Cortaillod, located on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, was designed by the architecture firm Andrea Pelati and features a building volume of 1090 m3 and a usable area of 208 m². Below the garden of a neighboring building, the interior of the new construction surprises with impressive views of the landscape.
- Nature-Connected Panorama
-
The new residence is situated halfway between the village and the vineyards of Cortaillod. It seems to emerge directly from the ground beneath the garden of a 1950s building. From the street, the new construction is hardly noticeable. The design harmoniously blends with the landscape, but also stands out with a staircase integrated into the roof, arousing the curiosity of onlookers.
Inside, a seamless flow of space leads from the spacious entrance hall through the house. The access to the bedrooms is discreet, while the staircase leading down to the living room appears spacious and inviting. From the living area, the view opens up to the vineyard, the rooftops of the old village center, and the lake and mountain panorama in the background. Further, the path leads around a central fireplace and some steps to a more intimate, semi-underground room, located close to the vineyard, serving as a guest room and office.
- Delicate Window Openings
-
Modern architecture focuses primarily on the essential. The desire for design and exclusivity is met by the premium sliding and fixed window system, minimal windows®. The already reduced frame profiles seamlessly integrate into the floor, ceiling, and walls.
